Public Welfare Chapter No. 31 . . . January meeting, guest speaker Jim Daniels, Executive Secretary, spoke on OSEA's legislative program and the 1959 Salary Survey. Or-Ga-Co Chapter No. 51 . . . December meet ing report - 25 New Members. Headquarters Staff found your "Gazette" reporting on Gen eral Council informative - meaty. Hope to see another edition soon. Consolidated Chapter No. 61 . . . Members were shown colored slides o f European tour by President McLean. Clarence Cuyler, District Di rector, was present. Personal letters are being w ritten to non-members as a part o f a special membership campaign. N.W. Oregon Forestry Chapter No. 76 . . . Guest speaker at January meeting was Mr. Al Elkins o f the State Employment Service. A movie was shown and coffee served. Discussion o f change o f meeting night. DISTRICT No. 2 Salem Chapter No. 1 . . . Bill A lbright, Chap ter Legislative Representative and former Direc tor o f Insurance, gave an excellent capsule pre sentation o f OSEA's Legislative program. Sup port was urged particularly fo r HB 224, HB 227 and HB 400. Guest from HQ was W hit Halteman, who gave a blackboard breakdown on what the Governor's salary increase recommendation w ill and w ill not do. Jay Blair also attended. Forestry Chapter No. 25 . . . Kudos fo r the January issue o f "OSEA'i-^.^ newsy and w ell edited. Should have appeal to non-members. Noted! DISTRICT No. 3 Roseburg Chapter No. 2 . . . OSEA's legisla tive program was discussed at the January meeting o f the chapter. Refreshments were served. Coquille Chapter No. 10 . . . Discussion of legislative measures affecting State employees was the business at hand at the January meet ing. The previous month's meeting was partly social - W ild Life movies were shown. Crater Lake Chapter No. 16 . . . January's meeting was cancelled due to that 'w 'hite s tu ff" in the mountains keeping three crews busy. December's meeting covered General Council re ports and discussion o f resolutions. DISTRICT No. 4 Bend Chapter No. 3 . . . Movies furnished by the Travel Bureau and Game Commission were shown at the December meeting. January's meeting covered discussion o f General Council resolutions. District Director "P eggy" Mayfield was among those present. DISTRICT No. 5 LaGrande Chapter No. 4 . . . Kenneth Chat- wood discussed General Council resolutions at the January meeting. DISTRICT No. 6 Eugene Chapter No. 6 . . . January business meeting was follow ed by refreshments, music and dancing. (Sounds like fun!) Albany Chapter No. 7 . . . Pictures were shown by Game Commission at January meeting. Chapter Constitution and By-Laws are being re w ritten. Special membership campaign — each member who signs a new member receives equivalent o f one month's dues. Webfoot Chapter No. 49 . . . Business and social meeting o f members heard Muriel Young, Nursing Director o f O.S.H., discuss nursing service. "O rder o f the Pin" was presented by Gordy Tomlin, District Director, to S. Cross, E. Lively, B. Stoll, W. Gralap, and M. Pickard. Portfolios were presented to R. G ill, H. See, S. Gross and M. Pickard. Program and refresh ments were next. Woodburn Chapter No. 45 . . . Membership and legislation were the topics discussed at the business session o f the January meeting. Everitt; Hughes showed pictures taken in Europe. Also card games - refreshments. Deer Park Chapter No. 47 . . . Monthly meet ing date was changed from second Monday to third Thursday to accommodate more members. $2 door prize w ill be given at each meeting - winner must be present or ¡ackpot w ill carry over until claimed. Refreshments were served. OSSD Chapter No. 67 . . . Ida Stone continued w ith reports from General Council. Slides show ing trip to Rome, the Holy Land and other areas in Europe were shown to members and students in girls' dorm by Mr. A lfred Quiring o f the Hollywood Print Shop. Up and Coming Chapter ■ H ■ J j lllll OSEA Evergreen Chapter No. 28 (State Hospital employees in Salem) is one of the most active organizations in the State. The photo above shows some of the executive committee of the chapter at work. Nearly half their membership turns out at regular chapter meetings to keep well-informed and enjoy fine entertainment, food and refreshments . . . best of all — good fellowship.
