SEBCO Elects . . . SAYS . 1. LET ME SHOW YOU THE NEW ED SEL and Gene Schmidt Gene Schmidt, a past-president of the Association, was elected vice-president of State Employees Building Corporation at a meeting held in Salem early this month. Marion Horton was re-elected as presi dent. He has served two years in this ca pacity having been the chairman of the organizing group before incorporation in 1957. Re-elected as secretary-treasurer was Ken Conover who also has been with the Cor poration since its inception. SEBCO was formed at the direction of the 1956 General Council after employee- members had requested a building of their own in which to conduct the fast-growing business of the Association. A building com mittee was formed immediately following the annual session and the members be came the trustees. The incorporating group was composed of Horton, the chairman, Ed Chidsey, Harry Allan, Gertrude Cham berlin, Edwin Bamford, Ken Conover, Mark Sayre, Ross Newcomb, Carl Hobson and Don Barrack, all of whom were named to the trusteeship by then president,' J. Lloyd LeMaster. As originally designated, membership in the Corporation is available to all State employees. Voting membership is $5 each; associate memberships (for spouse or other non-member) $5 and chapter memberships,- $50, (or multiples thereof). The fast-growing organization announced at its last meeting that these memberships are still open for State employees as well as chapters and invite all who are eligible to participate in this attractive investment feature. With improvements made in the Headquarters building, added businesses in the locality and street improvements just completed, it is expected the property value will increase to make the investment even more sound. Inquiries concerning the Corporation and membership availabilities are invited—they can be directed to the president, the secre tary-treasurer or the trustees in care of the Headquarters office in Salem.
