Department of Veterans’ Affairs
Most World War II veterans have
less than four months in which to en
roll in G I courses of edU<|lion or
trainihg — or lose these beneSts for
ever. Ju ly 25 is the deadline for all
veterans who were discharged prior
t° July 25, 1947; those discharged af
ter that'date havevfpur years from the
date of their discharge to start GI
training.
The Veterans Administration says
a veteran actually must .be enrolled in
a course prior to Ju ly 25, if he is to
keep his rightsi intact beyond that
date, and once he, quits his course
after that time, he’s through. The
only exceptions to this ruling are:
1. Normal summer wa B a l n >Bter-
ruption. .If a veteran is in College’
this springWnd plans to ^ etu rn , next*
fall, he’s safe; however, if he intends/
toMhange .to another field of studjjl
nextOall, he should apply to the VA
immediately.
H The veteran who interrupted his
G I course to enter military service
can enroll again after his dSfffarge/^
3. A veteran who has completed a
premedical or predental B g l B i rsp
gain admission to a medical
or dentalgchool by Ju ly H E R enter

vided h e ’show! the'JVA | H he had
applied for and was denied ^admission.
4. A school teacher who takes sum
mer trainingleading E H degree, can
enroll uniter the G I bill each summer,
even thojugh his C^I^training is inter
rupted for,' the purpose ^ W te a ^ B g
school the remainder of the year.
5. The I veteran who completes I
undergraduate course this.'spring un
der the G I bill and intends to take
graduate training in the same field
next fall, may do so.

The
there’s one way to do it,
and. that’s by enrolling in a residence
course of training before the Ju ly 25
other words, he will have
to enroll in a summer school course, in
the same field that he intends to pur-
B R H college. He should check with
or with the General.

get enrolled before the deadline.
At the same time, he should get his
