goal to attain; Marion Chapter 18 in­
tends to reach that goal. A competitive
challenge is always an incentive for
attainment of greater membership.
Past President Robey Ratcliffe has
been selected as Director of District
Number 2, OSEA, for 1951. Mr. Rat­
cliffe will do an efficient job during
1951-and we feel complimented to have
a member of our Chapter selected to
serve in such a capacity as director of
a district of OSEA.
The goalfor 1951 is increased mem­
bership, more active participation of
the members within the organization,
and whole-hearted support of civic
and community enterprises.
WILLAMETTE CHAPTER No. 21
Willamette Chapter No. 21 (Public
Utilities Commission) polished off the
old year with a lively Christmas party
at the Senator Hotel. The entertain­
ment, which included vocal and in­
strumental- selections as well as an
authentic Samoan dance, was’ espec­
ially appreciated because it was furn­
ished by “local” talent from within
the Chapter. The retiring President,
Jim “The Snozzle” Singleton — not
content with giving us a bang-up
party -Bgf.ppnpH out of his regal robes
and into a Gay Ninetie’s costume, to
render a snappy song and dance
routine.
With the passing of the old year, the
new year rocketed into action with a
slam-bang campaign to determine the
officers for 1951. No holds were bar­
red — a record number of votes were
cast — and when the din of battle had
subsided, the following had been
selected to steer the ship through the
coming year: John Kelley, President;
Wayne Straw, Veep; Jane Trojan, Sec'4
retary; Mabie McGee, Treasurer.
Before the smoke had settled, Pres­
ident Kelley appointed a membership
committee consisting of Marjorie Cas-
pell, Marie Lippold, and Clair Knowl­
es. These gals jet-propélled^^fr
through the Department and, as I of
the time of writing of this story, thè
Chapter membership had reached 140
