State Employees Chorus
The state em ployees’ choral concerts,
given M ay 26-27 at th e Salem high
school auditorium , w hich w ere p res­
ented for, th e b e n e f g | of the M arion

history, b u t p lfa sa n t m em ories still
linger w ith those of us who w ere active
in th e prom otion and actual presen­
tatio n of these program s.
The

the effect th a t th is w as a very suc­
cessful v en tu re. C ertainly the; Oregon
em ployees’ I association gained m any
new frien d s from the citizenry of S a­
lem. The m em bers"'of th e ch^ y j en-
sem ble; the director, Mr. R onald C rav­
en; th e a ^ o m p a n iw , Mrs. F ern C rav­
en and R uth B edford; and the featured
soloists, T heodora Hum iston,
Wolfe, E dith F airh am G unnar and Don
W orden, each enjoyed his p artic ip a­
tion and derived a great ^ealgof satis­
faction from his efforts. M any are
looking fo rw a S S ^ ^ ^ S program
ten tativ e plans are being form ulated
at this tim e.
Thus far, a check for $800 has been
presen ted to th e In fan tile P a r a l^ i^
Foundation. The presentation was
m ade at th e ir reg u lar m onthly m eet­
ing on T hursday, Ju n e 1, 1950. All
m em bers of the polio board <^were
pleased and elated over the success of
th e Concerts. This contribution was
m ade a t an opportune tim e and for
th e first tim e in years, th e foundation
w as able to pay all cu rren t b ills’, and
still m ain tain a sm all balance in the
fund.
