were read and approved.

White asked whether there should be
action taken to prevent additional or

ent law should be repealed before the
expiration date which is June 30, 1949.
Mr. Erickson m oved, that the Asso­
ciation take no action with respect to
securing repeal of the law, since it
would automatically expire at the end
of the biennium, but that the Associa­
t i o n be alert to stop anyI similar ..law

CS 3. Veterans Preference. Mr.
Stewart said the.^ Civil Service^ Act

ten per cent on entrance examinations
and subsequent jja r ^ ndment?* allows
five or ten per cent on first promo­
tional examination for veterans of
World War II who were in state ser­
vice, went into, the w ar and returned
to state service. This does not apply
to World War I veterans, w n S stayed
in state service and are still there. ,

Mr. Ericksen moved tnatythe resolu­
tion be tabled. Motion carried.
At this time Mr. Query suggested:
that inasmuch as they were particu-
larly interested in the promulgation
and outline of thè; legislative program,

À ftèr'a check had been made of the
Agenda and those resolutions designat­
ed as legislative indicated, it was de­
cided to start with Salaries and Wages.
Salaries and Wages Resolutions
(Legislative)
SW 14. Emergency Fund to be Cre­
ated. Mr. Cameron -said that ^ n ce it
had been adopted by the Council and
Legislative Committee, has referred it^.
to- the chapters, he moved the Board
of Directors approve action already
taken.
Mr. White sàid he believed the Leg-
islative Committee had the approval
of the Board to proceed on this par­
ticular problem as indicated in these
paragraphs. It was so moved and mo-
tion was carried.
Mr. Query said they tried to substan­
tiate the thought constituted in those
resolutions when they wrote the ma­
terial entitled “Parity Pay I for State
E m ^^yee.”
Mr. W hite'said first it was generally
agreed and most of the members un­
derstood there wòuid be an attempt to
get the.’O ^ ^ ia M w h ic h the Civil Ser­
vice Commission will present the Gov­
ernor and Budget Director, into effect
