Kirtley, G.I. adjuster, was married May
15 th; several of the boys in UÇ and ES
attended a "stag” party in Salem re­
cently (for the sake of propriety and
the safety of husbands, we decline to
publish their names).
Helen Daskalos, ES, celebrated her
(?) birthday April 30th. A group of
her po-workers found out about it and
staged à "surprise” party for her.
Jack Urman, ES, has requested that
his ad for a new girl friend be removed.
We wonder why? Perhaps that last ad
got sòme results for Jack?
Sincerest sympathy is extended Cliff
Mabee, Contributions Section, at the
recent parsing of his mother.
STATE EMPLOYEE TO SERVE AS
VISITING EXPERT IN JAPAN
Glen ffl Weaver, State Supervisor of
Occupational Information and Guid­
ance, has accepted a ninety-day assign­
ment as Visiting Expert in vocatiorial
guidance with the Military Government
in Japan. He left Salem by air, Sunday
evening, May 2 ,'for Washington, D.C.
He then; flew from Washington to
Tokyo.
The purpose of his visit is to adyise
and assist the Civil Information and
Education Section, Supreme Command­
er for the Allied Powers, in the plan­
ning and implementation of programs
for improving vocational guidance in
the Japanese school system. His duties
will include 'conferences and consulta­
tion with Japanese leaders and groups
under the supervision of SCAP person­
nel.
Mr. Reaver is a 1929 graduate of
Oregon State College. He taught voca­
tional agriculture five years at Gresh­
am Union high school and has served
as County Supervisor, Assistant State
Director and District Supervisor in the
field of rural rehabilitation in Oregon.
Weaver has been with the Oregon State
Division of Vocational Education for
five and one-half years as assistant state
supervisor of : vocational agriculture
in his present position.
