Chapter 30 held its regular monthly
meeting July 11, 1947, on the second
floor of S. W. 12 th and Stark streets,
with Jack Norton, president, conduct­
ing the meeting. Matters of general im­
portance I to state workers were dis­
cussed. The grand success of the chap­
ter’s annual picnic at the Oak’s park
last month came in for its share of the
discussion, and President Norton wishes
to take this opportunity to thank all
picnic committee members for the fine
work they did in making the outing
the wonderful success it was. About
eighty members of ,the chapter, in­
cluding their friends and relatives, en­
joyed the day.

Introducing Chapter 32!
Mid-Valley Social Workers chapter
adopted its constitution at its third
meeting, July 15, at a picnic in Leslie
park. The chief points under discus-*
sion were—name and membership. The
name, Mid-Yal'ley Social Workers, was
finally chosen, in order that employees
of neighboring county welfare staffs
might join if they wished, and so "that'
social workers employed by the statig
in other than public? welfare work
might feel frejê to join. I t was the feel­
ing of the members that social workers
and the staffs who assist them might
want to discuss-problems which would
not be pertinent to other state em­
ployees. A name was, therefore, chosen
which would /indicate this limitation
of membership.
A t the first organizational meeting,
on May 14, officers were elected as
follows; President, Eileen Donaldson;

At the second meeting, Mr. Forrest
Vr Stewart, executive secretary, spoke
to the group on the techniques for
forming a new chapter. He also de­
scribed some of the accomplishments
of the state organization and the meth­
ods used to achieve these ends so as
not to produce hostility.
Following this meeting, great en­
thusiasm was shown in completing the
