his number. The expression on Dutch’s
face indicated that he would much
rather have been out in the crowd of
hopeful people than up on the stagey
but at this time jack Collins came to
the rescue. He put another heater up
for drawing just like the one drawn
by Dutch. This second heater went to
J. Floyd Hayes, maintenance section
foreman at Manning;
Then came the drawing for the oil
burner given by Beall Pipe and Tank
Corporation, won by -Floyd R. W y
more, bridge operator on Interstate
bridge. The toastmaster given by J. N.
and M. H Conley, Contractors, was
won by . Herb King on Carl Peterson’s
survey party. Last of the prizes, but
by no means the least, was the waffle
iron given by Porter W. Yett and
wori by A. Lesowski; dn Clay Cornett’s
survey Crew.
The rest of the evening was up to
each individual— dancing, b o a t i n g ,
swimming, and even a few tried eating
again.
The picnic was managed and super
vised by Mr. Ed Reif, chairman of the
entertainment committee, with the as-
sistance of a very able staffs'w hich
he appointed.
Guests from Salem chapter were
Mr. and Mrs. Webb Ross and Mr, Mer-
vin Stephenson.
Three hundred and fifty people at
tended, 1 including members and their
