Life Insurance Co., Northern Life In
surance Co. and'Occidental Life Insur
ance Co. have been received by the
committee. The Insurance Committee
feels that a group life insurance pro
gram will benefit and increase the mem
bership of the Association.
The Board of Directors recessed till
1:00 p. m. when the resolution received
from Newport Chapter No? 11 Was dis
cussed. It was the consensus of opinion
of the Board of Directors, that the Ex
ecutive Secretary had carried out the
instructions of the Board with com
plete , satisfaction and in accordance
with the policies of the Association.
A resolution Was adopted that F. Leo
Smith, legal counsel, and Forrest V.
Stewart, Executive Secretary, be given
a vote of confidence and commendation
for the manner in which they had car
ried out the wishes and dictates of the
Board of Directors!, and that a copy of
such resolution be forwarded to each
chapter.
It was the feeling of the Board of
Directors that continuing steps be ta
ken by , the Association Regarding the
investigation of salaries. A study and
analyses of comparative Salary rates was
suggested so that the O.S.E.A. would
have timely and accurate facts and fig
ures that could not be ignored and

these facts presented to the Givil Serv
ice Commission in behalf of \salafy ad
justments.
I Motion was adopted that the Presi
dent appoint a , committee to conduct 4
spot pheck survey of industrial rates
of pay in Oregon and report finding
to the Board of Directors. Floyd Query,
Jr., Past Presidenti was named cliaxr-
man. He informed the Board of Di
rectors that immediate action would be
started along this line, and that the'
