their bosses and the rest- of the world.
W hat would happen iff-e'very steno
grapher in America took to her bed
and decided to stay there one month?
Trade would become chaos. The cos
metics industry, lunch store counters,
lecture bureaus^, travel agencies, and
the entertainm ent, world— all would be
swimming in red ink.
No bills would go out-*—is that bad?
— because there would be no.-one to
"take a letter.”
T h at’s how dependent the modern
world is on the young lady whom the
boss often tosses off w ith the light
phrase: "My girls will take care of
that.”—-Oregon Journal, Feb. 17.

May we never let the things we can’t
have, or don’t have, or shouldn’t have,
spoil our enjoyment of the things we do
have and can have, As we value our
happiness let us not forget it, for one
of the greatest lessons in life is learning
to be happy w ithout the things we can
not or should not have.

FOLKS ARE FU N N Y T H A T W AY
Strangely enough the folks most apt to
lend a hand to you
Are those who are already rushed with
countless things to do.
And should bad luok befall y op and
misfortune smack you prone,
The ones who’ll help you most are
those with troubles of their own.
The folks, whose sunny slant on life
helps heal its smarts and stings
Are often .those who know first-hand
the seamy side of things;
And he, was ’ right, it seems, who said
I that life is w hat you make i t ^ . j
It’s not so much what happens, as the;
way in which you take it.
