Astoria Chapter regrets to announce
the deatjibdf Charlies Boyce. Charlie was
struck and killed by a falling tree on
January 8, 1947. The accident-occur­
red near Dolph,' where >he5,^as working
with the extra gang. His funeral was-
held in-.Tillamook ,on January 17. He
is suryived by a son and daughter of
Oregon City, and father and two
brothers from Nevada.
Roy Boldt’s maintenance*^ few I has,
been very busy ,running double, shift
for the last month, sanding ^slippery
highways, plowing snow, and removing
fallen trees from the highway. Many
trees havev ,-£-alfen during high winds
on the -jCoast and Columbia River
highways, where^ jpgging operations
have removed supporting trees.
