Introducing Your Association Officers
The magazine staff is very pleased to
introduce the new officers of your As­
sociation. To help you become better
âcqüainted with these men, photo­
graphs and bits of their liïe. history are
printed herè.
But we cannot go further with in­
troductions until we express our appre­
ciation for the work that was done and
the accomplishments gained by the out­
going officers. Each of them has added
something of permanent value to the
position he filled and to the growth of,
the Association.

Barney’s work as Director of Civil
Service last year was outstanding and
his tireless efforts contributed much to
the advancement, of our aim's, He is - a
sincere and forthright leader and i t
tactful and friendly in his personal
contacts. He is unswerving in his de­
termination to-defend the Association’s
gains and to promote the successful
accomplishment of its objectives.'
Floyd A. Query, our retiring Presi­
dent and new Junior Past President^:
came to. Oregon in 1912 from Nebras­
ka. An article in the March-April 1946
issue of The Oregon State Employee
gives some of the interesting details of
his background. Floyd has been with
the Highway Department since 1930
andis now an Engineer Specialist in the
Salem office of the Maintenance Divi-
sigh. I
^-Fjoyd has contributed much to our
rapid growth in membership and to the
accomplishment of our aims. He has
served the Association faithfully in var-
iotis>offices since ,the day he signed as
Bjame Erickson
Our new President, Bjarne Ericksen,
was born in Astoria on October 1, 1904.
After graduation from high school, he
attended Oregon State college', where
he: was elected foi membership in three
national honorary societies—-scholastic,
commerce and accounting. After grad­
uating from O.SiÇd Barney worked as
auditor for the Oregon Motor Stages
and in the office of the Secretary of
State before transferring to. the Public
Utilities Commission', where he is now
employed as ,.Chief Auditor.
Barney enjoys fishing, hunting, golf,
