Oregon Liquor Control Commission,
had been elected D istrict Director for
D istrict No. 1 of the association, for
1947. LeRoy Boldt was elected alternate
District Director. Mr. Boldt is a mem­
ber of Chapter No. 8, Astoria.
Mr. Allen A. French and Mr. William
M. Burns were elected as delegates to
the General Council meeting to be held
in Salem on November 9, 10 and 11.
Mr. French is employed by the State
Board of Health and Mr. Burns by the
Oregon Liquor Control Commission.
Mr. C. W. Clark, employed by the
State Board of Health, and Mr. Chas.
F. Thompson, employed by the Indus­
trial Accident Commission, were elected
as alternates.
It was motioned and seconded that
Chapter No. 17 have an open meeting
for all members, inviting all state em­
ployees who are not members of the
association, to sell them on the idea of

Mr. Forrest Stewart, Executive Sec­
retary of the association, appeared and
gave an interesting talk on the classifi­
cation and pay plan.
OREGON CHAPTER No. 22
A new list of officers and committee
workers headed by David H . Cameron
as president has taken charge of the
Chapter at the Unemployment Com­
pensation Commission following elec­
tion early in November, and all promise
to make things hum during the ensuing
year. Robert Putnam from the tabulat­
ing section is the new vice president,
while the remaining officers are hold­
overs: George Renshaw, secretary;
Margaret Lapschies, recording secretary;
Fred Fralich, treasurer; and Claude M.
Johns, delegate.
W ith legislative problems to the fore,
John Anning has been named chair­
man of the civil service committee and
George Gabriel in the same position for
the retirement group. Both will keep in
touch with legislative developments as
affecting the newly established em­
ployees’ rights, and they expect to work
closely with other groups to strengthen
