and the minutes of the previous meet
ing were read and approved. There
were 18 members present. "Skinner”
Daimler and his timekeeper were visi
tors.
About 75 communications were read,
and after a lot of steam had been
popped off, everyone was in much con
fusion, which no one seemed able to
untangle.
During the meeting Leland Smith,
weighmaster for this district, passed
out cigars. He is the proud father of
an eight and one-half pound girl.
The meeting was held at the Bainter
home, and was followed by an enjoy
able lunch served by Mrs. Daimler and
Mrs. Bainter.
This chapter can report 100 percent
membership for all employees in all
three maintenance sections, Nehalem,
Hebo and Tillamook, also the Nehalem
engineering crew.
W. M. Jolly, known as "Pop,” is on
vacation. He spent one week attending
the Tillamook fair and the pioneer
meetings at the fairgrounds.
"Skinner” Daimler’s hot shot gang
have departed for Seaside, Astoria, and
Baker's Fountain Lunch
way points, and Harry Melton and his
oil spillers have moved in and will spill
oil on Netarts and Wilson River high
ways.

We are happy to disclose an increase
in membership, and the best angle of
that development is that practically all
of the new members sold themselves on
the organization and asked to join. We
cannot give figures, as our industrious
secretary, Garland Hollowell, is vaca
tioning in the hop fields.
Rather elaborate plans are being
made for our October 17 meeting. E.
W. "Pop” Harland has charge of the
eats, and as he is certainly not known
as a lettuce sandwich gigolo, but more
on the longshoreman order, the ladies
should not wear their tightest girdles.
The engagement will be staged at the
Mayflower hall on N orth Capitol.
No serious program is contemplated,
but if the ratings have finally been
handed down by that date, the yodelers
and strippers will be lucky to get the
floor, judging by the large percentage
