from the engineers.
Bob Lockyear and Ed L. Danielson
are new employees on the Chapman
crew.
John L. Gunter, Don Farver, Robert
Hellings and Ernest Field are new em­
ployees on the B. A. M artin crew.
Frank L. Halland family spent a
week’s vacation on the coast, near Port
Orford.
D ot Martin just returned from a fish­
ing trip in Central Oregon. He caught
the limit of big ones. But knowing Dot,
we wonder.
John S. Stout is a new member. John
spent the past five years in Honolulu,
working for the army engineers.
Chappie Chapman has moved into
the Eugene area w ith his family. Chap­
pie has several jobs west of Eugene.
Fred Meyers, V. C. Sherrett, L. R.
Dade and W. L. Lockyear report 100
percent membership in their crews in
the association.

ALBANY CH A PTER No. 7
A fter thoughtful consideration, the
Albany chapter voted unanimously to
appropriate $1.00 per paid-up member
from the chapter treasury, which was
sent to the association headquarters to
help defray the cost of hiring an Assist­
ant Executive Secretary, who could de­
vote most of his itme to expanding and
strengthening the organization.
Andy Ayers is losing considerable
sleep lately. It seems that he is sitting
up every night to study on "how to be
a good father.” He is getting some
practical experience at the same time.
Charles Jennings is still struggling
w ith that word, "grandpa.” Don’t give
up hope, Charlie, it always takes longer
to get used to, the first time.

ASTORIA CHAPTER No. 8
Bill Mann and family of Corvallis
were Astoria visitors for a few days.
We enjoyed their visit.
Roy Boldt has returned from his va­
cation and is back on the job.
Daniels’ patching crew is in Astoria
and doing the highway a lot of good.
The Astoria ferries are doing a big
business. The official count shows that
