alley. Leo wasn’t Casey at the bat,
Leo was Leo, and he slammed one out
for four bases into deep center. It would
have gone out of an ordinary park, but
this one is about 10 miles long, so he
couldn’t, quite make it. It was long
enough to bring in all of the runners,
walkers and limpers from 26 years
minus (the minus for the benefit of
the "girl” players) to 60 plus. Well,
that smack sort of evened the score,
and from then on it was neck and
neck and the game ended in a dead heat
(no baseball term, but the heat was
heat and the players were almost dead).
"There was dancing too. Jimmy D a­
vis did a buck and wing and Ed Scher-
tenleib auctioneered (or whatever you
call it) the square dances, and no doubt
some of the participants re-discovered
some corns they thought were cured,
and others discovered some years they
didn’t realize they had.
" It was great, and we hope there’ll
be another next year and that every­
body will come.”

ROSE CITY CH A PTER No. 5
The regular meeting of Rose City
chapter got under way to a good start,
but a little later than had been planned,
due to unavoidable circumstances. D in­
ner, served about 8:00 P.M. by a well-
staffed entertainment committee, con­
sisted of creamed chicken on biscuits,
mashed potatoes, green beans, salad,
with ice cream and cookies for dessert.
A fter dinner, Mr. Moore introduced
Mr. Forrest Stewart, who acted as Mas­
ter of Ceremonies. Mr. Stewart intro­
duced several guests, including Mr.
Query. Mr. Query gave a short talk on
civil service. Mr. Stewart then intro­
duced the main speaker, Mr. Colman
of the Civil Service Board. He told
