Among veterans who have returned
to their positions in the printing shop
is Composing Room Foreman Chas. L.
Unruh, who served in both world wars.
Leaving with the O.N.G., Unruh was
stationed at Fort Stevens the past four
years.
Harvey Wahlgren—binderyman first,
golfer par-excellent second, has return
ed after a long period of service with
the Navy in the South Pacific.
"Woody” Van Woert, with the state
shop previous to service in the naval
construction seabee units in the Pacific
areas, is back and has taken up work as
junior apprentice.
has returned from the Pacific theater,
where he spent long months in India.
His later service followed a period of
Army duty in Africa.
Allen D. Knight several months ago
signed on as a linotype operator, after
seeing the world as a member of the
Navy in the Pacific theater.
Roger Quackenbush, Salem boy of
basketball fame, is now employed in
thé stockrooms. Roger . saw many
months of duty in the Pacific theaters
with the 6th and 8 th armies.
Phil Jaskoski, Jr., is numbered
among the newly employed vets in the
bindery department. Phil was in Uncle
Sam’s Navy and saw service in the
Southwest Pacific.
