JO H N DAY CHAPTER No. 13
C. A. Macomber, who has been on
the sick list for the past 28 months, re
turned to work as section foreman at
Spray June 3. He was given a shower
a few days after his return. There are
bridal, wedding, and baby showers, and
perhaps some we have never heard of,
but whatever else, this one certainly
was no baby shower, and when it was
over a third of the road between Ser
vice Creek and Spray was covered with
mud, rocks and brush. Traffic was held
up for 16 hours. Brush Was piled up
against some of the bridges, posts in
the under structure knocked loose, and
one check-dam was out. It took the
combined efforts of several section^,
crews to get traffic at normal agaiiOp?
and at this writing, some four weeks
later, there is still much cleaning to do.
