Rose City chapter members voted to
have the constitution and by-laws of
the chapter printed in booklet form to
given to each member. These book-
M t s have been distributed.
Vacation time seems to be here!
Several of the employees have taken
their vacation and returned, all report­
ing a good time. They all agree that
they will be rested up in a month or so.
The Rose City chapter annual picnic
will be held at Blue Lake Park, July 21.
Results will be told in the next issue of
The Oregon State Employee.
Harry Richards, of Vaughn Perkins’
bridge crew; was hurt in an accident
June 14, and was taken to Providence
hospital. Harry suffered a fractured
pelvis and chest injuries. Last report is
that he is getting along nicely.

EUGENE CHAPTER No. 6
Ed Guilford, who spent two years in
the South Pacific with the Marines, is
back at his old job on the V. F. Cald­
well crew at Veneta.
Vione Mathews has left the Norman
Dick crew and gone to ranching at
Vale, Oregon.
V. C. Sherrett has been harvesting
his cherry crop.
Mrs. Campbell is now assisting in
the A. J. Ford office.
Gilbert's Super M arket
B. A. (Dot) Martin and Frank Hall
attended the National Institute for
Traffic Training which was held at
Oregon State College in June.
Harry Reeder spent part of his va­
cation in California and reports the
weather in Oregon much cooler.
We are very sorry to announce that
Jack Rolland is leaving the department
and is going to the Lane Company,
R.E.A.
Dot Martin reports good fishing on
the Deschutes.
Tab Thompson is vacationing at
Odell Lake.
A. J. Ford was seen carrying mail
for two mail carriers of the fairer sex
at McKenzie Bridge. Time for trip, 15
minutes; Henry’s time with the ladies,
two hours.
At our last meeting, C. C. McKin­
ney was elected president; Norman
Dick, vice president; and Charles
Thornton, secretary and treasurer.
