Emory E. Johnston, District Main­
tenance Superintendent, Bend, went to
Idaho in mid-June for the funeral of
the sister-in-law, who passed away
suddenly in Bend.
John M. Meeks, Brothers, won the
decision in a bout with the measles.
M. W. "Dinty” Moore, Bend, is
bgain a grandfather. Time passes on.
Philip Olson, Chemult, was a June
visitor in the deep South.
C. L. "Charlie” Plummer recently
"gummed it out” waiting upon the
store teeth.
Tristan A. Shaver surveys the second
in the line of offsprings.
Chester G. Springer, prospector ex­
traordinary, may be found most any­
where in the Bend division again, after
a spring tour in the Salem division.
Prexy R. C. Vaughn reports a real
event for him in meeting again a sis­
ter from Minnesota after a lapse of
33 years.
Harold William, Madras, enjoyed a
summer vacation tour through eastern
Oregon and Washington, including
Grand Coulee.
Pappy says, "No conference can
achieve the peace of a central Oregon
summer day—the tableau of the mighty
