That lucky man, Jack McCallister,
did it again—yep, he walked off with
the jackpot. How does he do it?
Now for the reports of those spies
'of mine (a few at least are beginning
to function).
Orra Mahany went and "dood it.”
Last year while on a trip to Alaska she
met a very interesting gentleman by
the name of J. A. Edwards. As the
story goes, they were soon that-a-way
about each other, and after the trip
kept the mailman busy. Finally the
mail brought a huge diamond ring,
and yep, you guessed it—it is now Mr.
and Mrs. J. A. Edwards of Anchorage,
Alaska and California. Best wishes,
Orra, we miss your cheerful disposi
tion and ready wit.
Elaine Marquardt also went by the
board and shortened her name to the
wintery name of Snow. Elaine is secre
tary to Jim McFarland, and expects to
resume her position upon her return to
Salem. The big event took place on
June 9 at the home of the bride’s par
ents, Mr. and Mrs. T. Marquardt of
Salem. The happy couple left for a
wedding trip to the sunny (?) clime
of California immediately after the re

ROSEBURG CHAPTER No. 2
Roseburg chapter has added quite a
number of new members in recent
months from various departments re
presented in the vicinity. We are mak
ing a definite effort to contact all
state employees in the area and famil
iarize them with our program and ob
jectives.
There has been a great deal of inter
est shown by the Douglas County em
ployees, who have formed an associa
tion of their own. This chapter has
worked with them ,but has been un
able to offer them anything concrete
in the form of affiliation, due to its
own charter limitations.
Warren Mann, former employee in
the Roseburg district, recently returned
from the Army, where he had seen
