Dan J. Murphy is back at Shaniko
after a session in the Army. He man
aged to trim a few big shots on the
side (barber).
Jim Fifer of Shaniko has been try
ing to do a little fishing on the side.
Sgt. Ray E. Brown, (helper at Rufus)
sailed for home April 19. Ray has had
quite a hitch in the Army. No doubt
he will have a story or two for us.
Between patching and fishing, Hood
River has been a mite busy. Pinky is
losing a couple of men to the patching
crew. He needs a couple of fishermen
for replacements.
Parkdale and Moro must have seen
their shadows and crawled back into
their caves.
Here is one for the book. Rufus, D u
fur and Maupin crews 100%, also paid
up one year in advance.
The T.B. hospital staff of The Dalles
has decided to join Chapter 9. They
are very welcome additions to our chap
ter.
The Traveling Engineers were last
seen going through The Dalles, headed
east.
Next month, Hood River entertains,
and Parkdale has charge of refresh
ments.

NEW PORT CHAPTER No. 11
Elmer A. Cormican, recently dis
charged from the U. S. Navy, now in
the employ of the State Parks Depart
ment, has been transferred from the
Newport park crew to Cascadia.
Theron L. Hicks of the Waldport
section maintenance crew is now work
ing with F. A. Starkey’s paving crew
at Corvallis.
KLAMATH FALLS CHAPTER
No. 12
The regular monthly meeting of the
O.S.E.A. was held March 20 at the
K. C. Hall, Klamath Falls, with a
number of new members present— mak
ing a total of 29 members attending.
We were glad to welcome back our
Honorable President, Mr. Ramsey, who
has been nursing a broken arm for sev
eral months.
Roger Wright, our chapter repre
sentative, presented a very interesting
