“ Lo, the poor Indian! whose untutored
mind
Sees God in clouds, or hears him in the
wind.”
If Alexander Pope was right and an
Indian does get religious inspiration
from the wind it occurs to us that
there has been a great deal of potential
Redskin piety going to waste in this
district lately. Poor Lo would have
been more than welcome to it.
The housing situation harbors no
fears for Dow Davidson now. When
the bridge crew, in which he is assist
ant carpenter, moved to Brogan, he
hunted from there to Vale for a house
to live in but couldn’t get even a hotel
room as the hunting season was start
ing and all rooms were reserved. H e was
forced to go to his brother’s ranch at
Hereford, sixty miles away, to stay all
night. H e evidently thought this was
too far to commute from so didn’t
show up for work next morning, but
when he did return he had his own
house on wheels. And the landlord
won’t be tacking " N o dogs allowed”
signs on the door, either.

he has put in thirty for the State H igh

good fishing stream will get first con
sideration.
