highlights of some of his experiences.
He has bought a home in Roseburg
and is working in the Division there.
Mr. J. C. Chapman and family spent
the Christmas holidays with relatives
in Corvallis and Sweethome.
George Baker and family spent the
holidays with Mr. Baker’s mother at
Hillsboro. It must have been a swell
vacation for he had to spend two or
three days in bed resting as soon as he
got home.
Kirk Lawrence has been off for sev
eral days due to sickness, but we hope
he will be back to work soon.
Erwin Clark spent a few days in
Salem during which time he attended
the Board of Directors meeting. He
brought back a lot of information for
the members.here. If it wasn’t for Er
win we wouldn’t know half of what is
going on in this organization.
BEND CHAPTER No. 3
The December meeting of the Bend
Chapter was one of the most success
ful, best attended and most interesting
meetings of the history of the Chapter
for many reasons, chiefly, the attend
ance of returned state employees from
the armed services overseas, giving all
a chance to get acquainted again and
revive some of the old experiences and
hear about the new ones.

highlighted the meeting with the can
didates running neck and neck, creat
ing an air of suspense until the results
were read. The winners were heartily
congratulated by everyone and given a
warm send-off for the coming year’s
activities.
The meeting was held at a popular
restaurant in Bend, the Chapter stand
ing the expense of the turkey dinner.
Now, dear reader, dispel your fears, for
it was not the turkey dinner alone
which brought the large attendance; it
was just the meeting as this Bend Chap
ter (you don’t have to be told this) is
a most enthusiastic and loyal bunch.
Chester E. Paulsen from the Salem
Chapter was a visitor, and because he
let it be known he had counted ballots
in the Salem election, he gladly agreed
to be the neutral in our ballot counting.
Short talks were given by Ed More-
lock and Wayne Lithgow, both return
ed Seabees. Other World War II veter
ans introduced were: Ewald Radmach-
er, Dale L. Woods, Howard S. Cox, R.
F. Crouch, Clifford Bright and G. A.
Monroe.
