Owens, Delegates. For a while we
thought we also had a President in W.
O. Widdows who was officially elect
ed. However Bill was forced to decline
the position due to the press of other
business and his inability to be present
at the meeting. We plan to elect some
other good man to this position at our
February meeting and then we will
have a complete roster of officers, all
of whom are well able to serve the
Chapter and its interests during the
coming year.
This year sees both the Civil Service
Law and the Retirement Law begin to
actively function and we foresee much
interesting discussion of these two acts
as they are put into effect. Our Chapter
will find much to talk about, no doubt,

charm to our monthly get-togethers.
Maybe when the ladies’ attendance sur
passes that of the men, the meetings
will liven up considerably.

we note, many new faces at our meet
ings and sometimes wonder if the mor
tality rate among us "old timers” is
really as high as our non-attendance
might indicate. We certainly welcome
our many new members and the inter
est they show in Chapter affairs, but

let’s not throw the burden of maintain

A t our last meeting we were delight

Welcome back fellows. Hill gave a
very interesting talk on his travels and
