Progress Report of
Membership Contest
The membership contest in progress
from June through October is over.
The results are being turned over to
the contest committee which will award
the prizes to the winning chapters. This
will be done in the very near future.
The contest was successful in every
way. Many of the chapters made out
standing gains in membership. Only
two chapters failed to increase their
membership during the period. The As
sociation on the whole shows a 30%
gain since the first of June.
Two new chapters were organized
during the period.
The percentage of increase is based
oh the number of paid up members as
of May 31, 1945. 'The following table
indicates the total new members and
the percent of increase:

Insurance Committee
Progress Report
Your Insurance Committee recently
held a meeting and considered the ques
tion of not only medical and hospital
coverage, but also group life insurance.
The entire subject was thoroughly cov
ered and at the meeting were represent
atives from hospital associations and life
insurance companies.
The Committee decided that before
recommendations could be made to the
General Council an expression of opin
ion should be obtained from the mem
bers. Accordingly, a test check was
made through a questionnaire to mem
bers of our Association and from the
answers it appears that 80% of our
members are definitely interested in
medical and hospital coverage for them
selves and more than 70% for their
families. Sixty-seven percent of those
answering the questionnaire indicated
an interest in group life insurance.
In view of the present progress of
the Committee’s work to date, we be
lieve we shall be able to submit to our
members an insurance program favor
able as to coverage and at a cost that
all can afford to pay.
