terest in our organization and thus pre­
sent a real challenge for us to remain
full of purpose and of service to them.
It is good to know that Jerry Farrar
is hack on the job again. Take it easy,
Jerry, and let the other fellow carry a
part of the load.
Art Burt, that active man from
Woodburn, has been getting to the
meetings of late, no doubt due to his
finding out that gas rationing is over.
Webb Ross, Oness Whaley and A rt
Rockafellow and Co. continue to put
out some first class entertainment and
grub at the meetings.
Mrs. Heinz braves the storms and
maintains her regularity of attendance,
a shining example to us all and our real
hope to encourage others of the girls to
"get the habit.” Really, girls it’s safe
to come! And where would you find
better company?
Our hats are off to the S.I.A.C.
Chapter at Salem for coming up with
a splendid idea of holding joint meet­
ings for all Salem chapters with each
Chapter alternating as host. We plan
to go right along with their idea and
look forward to a bang-up good time
in the near future. W atch for the
daté!
BEND CHAPTER No. 3
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Taylor returned
from their well earned vacation on Oc­
tober 26th, to their home on the range,
Alkali Take. They spent a very pleas­
ant ten days soaking up sea breezes
and slashing smoke on the Oregon Coast
and Willamette Valley points.
The Bramlettes returned October
27th from a stay at The Dalles with
Clyde’s parents, where he apparently
recuperated rapidly from his recent ser­
ious illness caused from too much
patching oil smoke. Mrs. Bramlette
came down from her lookout on Fre­
mont Point on W inter Ridge long
