BEING THjANKFUL
Some people seem to have almost
everything they could possibly want,
yet they don’t appreciate it. Others
seem to have very little, yet they man
age to be grateful for what they have.
So the true spirit of thankfulness is
not dependent on what a person has to
be thankful for. Rather, it is a matter
of the person’s nature. Either he is one
who is naturally appreciative, or he is
selfish and ungrateful.
Most young folks have plenty to be
thankful for, even those who seem un
fortunate in many ways. And it doesn’t
do anybody any harm to stop once in
a while and "count your blessings.”
That’s what Thanksgiving is for.
It’s a good time to think how lucky you
are in many ways. But thinking isn’t
quite enough. Try to express your grat
itude so that people know you are grate
ful. If you do that, Thanksgiving Day
will mean more to you than just a
chance to fill up on turkey and pump
kin pie.
