"I noticed in the December issue that
many of the men I used to go to high
school with are in other parts of the
world. Don Taylor and others I knew
when I attended Salem H igh School.
Also I noticed one article about French
girls. I happen to be living in a French
villege in a shell-torn house (not bad)
with a family. They have 5 in the
family and al lspeak German although
they can speak French. The 4 girls, 20
to 23, are certainly workers as we
track in a lot of French mud into, the
house. However, the American women
are still No. 1 for looks. However, I
don’t believe the American women re
alize how handy they have things over
in the states. They should see some of
these women wash. Makes me ache all
over to watch them. They carry all the
water from the village pump and tramp

"As for myself, I was employed,
or rather worked, in Eugene with Re

the Army during the construction of
the Judkins Point project. W hat that

stops for awhile in, March. Should be
spring around here some day though.
