Helper at Forest Grove, had to quit and
find employment inside, due to poor
health. He has been replaced by Clar­
ence Cummings, another long time
employee.
James Bunting, plant operator and
Section Foreman Helper at Troutdale
is still laid up with an injured hand.
As good men are hard to find hope he
won’t be away too long.
Bert Mann has been at Hood River
so long we are beginning to wonder if
he has turned into a famous Hood River
apple packer.
Happy faces about the building, Rod
Porter, George Barsness, Oscar Nord-
gerg and Carl Sheldon after their trip
to Astoria. Seems bacon and eggs for
breakfast get tiresome.
Ray Spagle, well drill operator, re­
ported this morning that he had things
his way for one day, Joe Skelton,
Bridge Engineer, ran the winch at Bri­
dal Veil, yep, short of men again.
Members of the Rose City Chapter
want to say thanks to Mr. A. J. Ford
(Henry) for working so faithfully as
State President of the O.S.E.A.
Ivan Dakin is back from his vacation
working in North Portland and Roy
Sellers is enjoying his vacation in Drain
and points south.

NEWPORT CHAPTER No. 11
The November meeting of Newport
Chapter No. 11, was held with a fair
turnout. Our delegate, Mr. Gallocher,
was instructed for his trip to the Gen­
eral Council. We hope he does his stuff.
W ehave changed our meeting place
to Waldport for the year of 1945, be­
lieving that the boys from Newport
would like to get a little farther from
home one night a month.
Dale Dinsmoore, of Casey’s Paving
Crew has returned to help during the
winter and we now have a full crew.
Our work will be Ugh ter too since Tom
Brown hung up his fish net for the
winter, the rest of us can take it easy.
KLAMATH FALLS CHAPTER
No. 12
Klamath Falls Chapter No. 12 holds
its regular monthly meeting on the
third Wednesday of each month. Visit­
ing members are always welcome.
Arthur B. Dejoode and Joseph A.
Clark, with their bridge crews, have
been working in this district for the
past two months.
Red Wright has been transferred to
Sand Creek to replace Lee Ferguson,
who has resigned. Edward D. Johnson,
former section foreman’s helper will be
the new section foreman at Quartz
Mountain.
Gibson’s Paving Crew No. 9 have
moved back to Klamath Falls to finish
the season here. It is reported that they
had a very enjoyable road trip.
Our secretary-treasurer, Harold V.
Simmons, has been over at Jordan Val­
ley for the past two months. He reports
they have quite a bit of oil to lay yet.
Says it is colder than___ out there.
The general committee on Pensions
and Retirement have started the ball
a rolling and it is reasonable to believe
that there will be ACTION from, here
on. Every meeting from now on will
be very important. This should en­
courage the members to attend more
regularly.
TILLAMOOK CHAPTER No. 15
Election of officers was held at our
regular meeting Friday, October 20 th.
E. O. Bainter was retained as president,
Cyril Reynolds was elected vice-presi­
dent and Earl Stevenson was retained
as secretary-treasurer. One new mem­
ber joined our chapter, W. G. Howell
of the Forest Service. Members were
