    SUMMARY OF SILETZ TRIBAL PROGRAMS
In the three Siletz Tribal Area Offices (Salem, Springfield and Siletz) we would like
to make an effort to contact Indian people who need any of these types of assistance.
The following programs are operated through all three of the Siletz Tribe’s Area
Offices. All programs are available to members of the Siletz Tribe who are one-
quarter blood degree of federally recognized tribes.
EDUCATION
Higher Education:

Summer Programs:

mature individual.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Provides counseling and referral services to all eligible tribal members who seek
such assistance.
HOUSING
Home Improvement: plans and coordinates housing improvement projects in the Tribe’s
Service Area, accepts evaluates, and submits applications for HIP grants to the
Housing Review Staff for action.
ADULT VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Tribal staff will provide; counseling and assistance in completing a grant application
for enrollment in accredited public training institutions. This is a-short-term
(2 or 3 years) training program.
DIRECT EMPLOYMENT
This provides our client with assistance in the beginning of their employment.
If
there are materials or equipment necessary to their employment, we may be able to
assist in obtaining them, also one months subsidy may be available to eligible
clients.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs has assumed responsibility for the Adult Vocational
Training and Direct Employment programs, as of October 1, 1980. Tribal staff will
be happy to assist the Bureau by answering questions and providing necessary forms
for these programs.
