for the committee and they will be going back to the Archives to do more research.

The Interim Council met to discuss the Reservation Plan and will meet again on
November 27, 1978. This plan must be submitted in less than one year.
LOGO CONTEST
The Tribal Council is holding a contest tocreate a "Logo" for the letterhead of the
official Tribal stationery. The contest is limited to Tribal members and their
descendants. All are encouraged to enter.
A prize of $50.00 will be awarded to the winner. The deadline is January
15, 1978.
The Tribal Council will make the selection, and present the award.
Remember you need not be an accomplished artist. The image, meaning, and
the fact that the new "Logo" is the creation of a Siletz Indian is what counts.

CFNP PROJECT
The Siletz members are and will be involved in a Community Food and Nutrition Project.
The Community Gardens, a Greenhouse, Food preservation, Freezing and Food Bank are
all parts of this project. Fruit Trees, Berries and other plants will be started
in the Greenhouse. The preserved and frozeTi foods will be distributed to members
on a criteria basis. As many members as possible will be furnished seeds, fertilizer,
soil preparation and soil tests. Apply for the Food Bank at the Tribal Office.

The Home Improvement Program for 1978 went over very well. Many of our people needing
renovations on their homes received grants for the projects. The Interim Tribal
Council has adopted policies for the 1979 program which is available in the eight (8)
county service area. Please write or call the Tribal office for application now.
HEALTH PROGRAM
DENTAL - Funding for the Siletz Dental Program is forth coming. Con-
tractural arrangements are being worked out for the service delivery
area. Routine services will include: examinations, flouride treatment,
fillings, stainless steel crowns, extractions where necessary, x-rays,
and root canals of forward teeth. Further services shall be added as
the program develops.
The Tribal Health Committee proposed that emergency care be provided
immediately and this was agreed to. The definition of emergency is that
the tooth is causing pain. Chemawa will authorize payment for the dental
procedures to reduce the pain.

In the event of a weekend emergency notify Chemawa within 72 hours.
