United Way budget hearings scheduled

The board of directors for United

holding the budget hearings on July
13, 14 & 15, starting at 6 pm at the
St. Helens Chamber of Commerce
building. The agencies receiving
United Way of Columbia County
funds are scheduled to present their
budget requests and justifications at
this time.

Vernonia Foursquare Church has
been chosen for the Northwest
premier showing of Foursquare’s
newly released film “One Shall
Become a Thousand”. This film is
based upon the life story of some of
Foursquare’s own missionaries in
South America. This will be the first
time this movie has ever been shown
in the northwest district and
promises to be an interesting and
exciting movie. It will be shown
Sunday, June 28, during the 11 am
service.

Mother of the Year

The Mother of Twins Club “Pair-A-
Tykes” from Portland sponsored one
of our members for the Oregon
Mother of the Year and she won.
Mabel Bodie, Mother of the Year of
Oregon will be in the Jamboree
Parade this year with our club and
our twins.

Golf Tuesday night. Vesta King came
in first and Glenda Alford came in
