The Banks Braves left Willamina Thurs day night with the scallps of the Bull dogs, to remain undefeated for the season. The loss for Willamina was their second in league action. This game was a game of breaks and some poor judgement which all went in the favor of the Banks team. What looked like was going to be a highlight of the game, turned into a break for Banks. Duane Rich of the Bulldogs took the o - pening kickoff on his own 35 yard line and ran the sideline to almost a touch down. The referee ruled he stepped out of bounds on the Banks 30 yard line. After picking up a few yards, Willamina had a fourth down and six to go when they fombled and Banks recovered. With only nine seconds left in the first period, Banks took a Bulldog punt and ran it 65 yards for the first touchdown of the game. The kick for the extra point was no good. After playing most of the second period scoreless, Miss Fortune came along again, o r another break. The Bulldogs fumbled a Banks punt on th eir own five yard line and Banks recovered. In three plays they scored. The kick for point after was good. The score was now 13 to 0, Banks. The score at the end of the first half was Banks 20 and Willamina O. After holding the Braves on the first few plays of the second half, the Bull dogs came right back to score, and con vert the extra 2 points. The touchdown was a 46 yard run by Duane Rich. The conversion was a pass from Johnson to Rich. Each team scored once in each of the last two periods. Duane Rich was the leading rusher for the game with 111 yards for 15 c a rrie s; ’’Cam” Crop of Banks was next with 100 yards on 23 c a rrie s. Willamina led the passing with 28 yards in 14 attempts. The Spartans were unable to move the ball for any noticeable yardage until late in the contest when Bobcat coach Craig Rothenberger began substituting freely.
