Mr. and Mrs. Ix>o Mitchell and son, Floyd and Mr. and Mrs. K. V. Floyd spent Saturday in Portland on busi ness. Mrs. Earl Harper who underwent an appendicitis operation last week at the Forest Grove hospital is re ported as (getting Along fine. Mr. Harper's mother Mrs. Olive Harper of Forest Grove is taking care of the home while she is away. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schiermeister and baby Ronald visited his parents Mr. and Mrs. Carl Schiarmcister at Dallas Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Greene and children, Richard and Jane, of Bur bank, California came Friday for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Greene, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Green. Miss Lynn Greene and Mrs. Carl Reed and son, Bobby, came up from Portland to visit with their brother, Gerald, and family over the week end. Mr: and Mrs. Gerald Brink have moved from the small house on C Street owned by the former, Mrs. Clara Kämmerer to the Payne house near the Rebekah Hall. Ethel K. Forty-eight young people were in attendance. Mrs John Tremblay assisted at the party. Games were played during the evening and refreshments of cider and doughnuts were served. Mrs. W. C. Tremblay and Mrs. Lea Perrin attended the Annual Red Cross meeting at McMinnville Tuesday at which time Mrs. Tremblay was elected as one of the vice-chairman of the Yamhill County Red Cross for the third time. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn L. Jones of Coquille 4pent the past two weeks at the home of Mrs. Jones’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Atkey. They left on Sunday for Dallas to pay his rela tives a farewell visit, leaving there on Tuesday for Portland to be induc ted into the Army. He will leave there Saturday for Fort Lewis. Mrs. Jones will live with her sister, Mrs.. F. E. Abraham, and family in Portland. Mrs. E. W. Lovette and son, Ronald of Vancouver, Washington visited at the home of her son and daughter-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Lovette Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Sam McCune, Jr. from Ocean I-ake moved on Friday in to the Larkin’s cabin vacated by Mrs. Vernice Kent who is now Mrs. Dwight Nickell of Amity. Mrs. Elfie Hamilton of Portland is spending this week with her sister-in- law. Mrs. J. E. Wigle. Thelma Lady was back in high school Minday morning after several weeks of illness and an appendicitis operation. Mr. and Mrs. V. 0 . Huddleston, Carol and Joyce spent Saturday n'ght at the home of Mrs. Huddleston’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hartsell, and had Sunday dinner with them. They attended Sunday School and Church at the Beaverton Christian Church in the forenoon and visited relatives and friends in and around Beaverton in the afternoon. Bom to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sitt- ser of DeLake a baby girl named, Linda Lee, at the General Hospital in McMinnville on November 3rd. The Mrs. Sittser is the daughter o f Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Beach. Mias Fern Sorensen and Miss La- Vem e Hemlick of Centralia, Wash ington spent Wednesday and Thurs day at the Elmer Hodson home. Miss Sorenson made her home with the Hodsons while working in the Ply wood Mill here a year and a half ago. Mrs. Wilson Fox had as callers Sunday afternoon Mrs. Naoma Rogers of Portland, Mrs. Maxine Endres, Mrs. Thelma Green and Miss Gpal Spence.
