CRIPPLED CHILDREN’S CLINIC TO BE HELD IN M c M innville oct . 30 A clinic for crippled children of Yamhill county, sponsored jointly by the Crippled Children’s Service of the Oregon and Yamhill County Pub lic Welfare commissions and the county health department, will be held in the health department offices at McMinnville Vpnday, October 30. The clinic wiM be conducted by Dr. Richard B. Dillehunt, orthopedic specialist and dean of the Oregon State Medical school; Dr. John F. Abele, director of Crippled Children’s Service; and Miss Alyce Bloom, or thopedic nurse of Portland, assisted by members of the county health and public welfare departments. The clinic is open to all children living within the county who are crippled or who have a physical de formity. Anyone wishing examination should contact the county nurses, health officer, or the local public wel fare department prior to the date of the clinic. During the past year, the nurses and social workers have at tempted to and to ferret out cases demanding special attention, and to make arrangements for those children to attend the clinic. Each child will be examined thor oughly, and when indicated x-rays will be made locally. Treatment will be recommended, and where possible, arrangement for the child to obtain correction or the required treatment will be made. Follow-irp work on the cases will be done by the county health and welfare departments. It is planned to hold a similar clinic annually. County Employment Service Places 58 in September Salem led the 21 offices of the Oregon State Employment service in placements during September, a re capitulation by the central office dis closed. The capital city had 1813 regular placements for a percentage of 21 of the state total. McMinnville, covering Yamhill county, accounted for 58, or .7 per cent of the state total for September.
