Mr. and M rs. Nick Hedberg
returned home last week after
a three week trip to Revelstoke,
B. C. where they visited Mr.
Hedberg's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Hedberg. The Fred
Hedbergs' , who went to R evel
stoke last summer to go into
1 umbering there plan to return
here in a few weeks to spend
the winter months.
Ross Gulley, Horace Colbert
and Howard Wallace returned
home the middle of last week,
after ushering In the deer se a
son in the Silver Lake area in
Eastern Oregon. They reporta
very successful trip as they each
brought back a mule deer.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Payne,
Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Phillips,

Reiling of Grants Pass in a

country. Both the Reilings got
their buck, and a member o f
each of the local fam ilies were
lucky enough to bring home a
mule deer.

middle of the week after spend
ing several days in Corvallis
RETURNS FROM VISITS
Mrs. Clara Bowlin returned
home during the weekend after
making two official v i s i t s as
President of District #7, VFW
Auxiliary. She visited the Grants
Pass Auxiliary on T h u r s d a y
e v e n i n g , and the Shady Cove
Auxiliary on Friday e v e n i ng .
This week she will visit the Cave
Junction Auxiliary on Thursday
evening, and the Gold Hill Aux
iliary on Friday evening. Mrs.
Alice Beam, a well known forme:
Brookings resident, is president
of the Cave Junction auxiliary,
so it is hoped that a good dele
gatlon o f l o c a l members will
accompany Mrs. Bowlin to Cave
Junction Thursday.

Clifford Banlck left Thursday
for Los Angeles where he will
enter his second year of dental
school at the University of Cal
ifornia at Los Angeles. Clifford
the son of Mr. and M rs. Leonard
Banlck, took his first year of
dental work at Portland, and he
has been visiting his parents for
several weeks.
FRANK HASSETT
DEATH IS REPORTED
Frank B. H asset, 85, who
lived in Brookings since 1923 un
til he moved to Lebanon, Oregon
two years ago, passed away on
October 6.
He is the father of George
Hassett, Brookings, and Mrs.
Ruth Murphy, also of Brookings.
Other survivors are his wife,
Mrs. Frank Hassett, Lebanon
sons Virgil, Eugene; andCharlei
