Thursday, after a brief wedding
trip to Vancouver, B.C .

Bowlin became the bride of Allen
Dwaine Smith, son of Mr. and
M rs. John E. Smith of Medford.
The Nuptial Mass and the double
ring ceremony were officiated by
Rev. James Harris of the Star of
the Sea Catholic Church. Altar
boys were: Allen Bowlin, and Eddie
Steinmetz, brother and nephew of
Mrs. Smith.
Ave Marie by Doley was sung
by Esther Fabric, Rogue River,
and Robert Bowlin. Panis Angel i-
cus and On This Day Oh Beautiful
Mother were sung by Esther Fab
ric, and Marilyn Shipley.
The bride, wearing lace over
satin, with bridal point long
and pearls, a gift of the groom,
was given in marriage by her
father.
The fingertip veil cascaded
from a tiara of pearls and carried
an heirloom prayer book mounted
with a white orchid and r ib b o n
stream ers.

the attendants were light blue

Mrs. Gary Wimberly cut the
tiered wedding cake after the
bride and groom cut the first

Mrs. Smith is employed by her

MARRIED AT BAPTIST CHURCH
Japet Glass, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Ivan Glass of Brook
ings, and Larry Brown, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown of
Medford were married last week
in a double ring ceremony at the
Baptist Community Church.
Rev. Walter Sadler officiated
in the ceremony. The bride was
given in marriage by her father,
and wore a gown of chantilly lace
and tulle made with bridal point
long sleeves and scalloped neck
line. She wore a fingertip veil
cascading from a seed pearl crown
and carried a bouquet of r e d
ro ses.
Mrs. R a lp h Reed served as
organist, while Miss Judy Sadler
was vocalist.
Mrs. Dennis Fadling, sister
of the bride was matron of honor
and wore a dress of yellow taffeta
and carried a nosegay of yellow
carnations.
Charlotte Jensen, and Martha
Campbell, friends of the bride
were bridesm aids, and carried
nosegays of carnations. They wore
Identical aqua taffeta d resses.
Jan Rettke was flower giri and
w o r e an aqua dress of dotted
nylon. Larry Rettke was ring
bearer. Candle-lighters were
J o y c e G l a s s and Goldie Am
Brown. Don Hawk was the best
man for his cousin. Ushers wen
Elmer Adams and Garry Hawk.
The reception was held in the
church basement following the
ceremony. The wedding cake was
a three-tiered traditional white
cake. It was cut by Mrs. Goldie
Hawk, aunt of the groom. Also
helping serve were Mrs. Goldie
Larson, Molly Hegge, andArtha
Adams.
Mary Gail Smith and Jeanette
Hedberg were in charge of the
gifts, and Sandra Glass was in
charge of the guest book.
The new Mrs. Brown attended
Brookings-Harbor high school
graduating last year. The groom
is stationed in Spokane, Wash,
with the U.S. Air Force.
