hemlock and other species $1.95
plus $0.70 for sale area better­
ment and $0.35 for slash dispos­
al for ail species. In addition
there is within the sale area
an anestimated volume of tan
oak logs which may be removed
at $1.00 per M board feet only
upon agreement in writing be­
tween the purchaser and the
Forest Service. As a qualifi­
cation for oral bidding, all bid­
ders must submit a sealed bid
accompanied by the required
payment to the Forest Supervisor
prior to 2:00p. m . September 23,
1957. Sealed bids *ill be posted
at the beginning of the auction
for the information of all bidders.
A money order, bank draft,
cashier's or certified check in
the sum of $21,000.00 must
accompany each bid, to be applied
ed on the purchase price, re ­
funded, or retained in part as
liquidated damages, according
to the conditions of sale. If re ­
quested by the purchaser. Con­
tract term s will permit felling
of timber In advance of payment
up to the value of the perform ­
ance bond. If an oral bid is de­
clared to be high at the closing
of the auction, the bidder must
immediately confirm the oral
bid by submitting it In writing
on a Forest Service bid form.

use in submitting sealed bids
and full information concerning
the tim ber, the conditions of
sale and submission of b id s
should be obtained from the Dis­
trict Ranger, Brookings, O re­
gon, the Forest Supervisor,
Grants Pass, Oregon, or the Re­
gional Forester, Portland, Ore­
gon, before bids are submitted.

Ronald Akt’rs, son of Mrs.
Minna Akers arrived h o m e
Monday, after attending a plane
engineering and testing and sta t­
istic a l school at U .C .L .A . with
the Civil Service.
Ronald will leave (or Illinois
and the U.S. Air Force, w-here
he will take a three year tour
as a 2nd Lt. He received h is
commission several months a-
go.
HOAGLANDS RETURN
Mrs. Jesse Hoagland and her
three daughters returned home
last Wednesday, August 21st,
after being gone for seven and
one half weeks.
They flew to Somers, Conn,
and spent their vacation with
Mrs. Hoagland's parents. Jesse
drove to San Francisco to meet
them, and they all spent four
days there visiting the Homer
and Howard Haggertys before
driving home.
