Friday, when a fire destroyed
two bins of fish, plus the b ln

The south jetty isn 't com plet­
ed as yet, but the co n tracto rs
felt that they*are running Into
a little difficulty with the channel
sanding in. They figured that it
they would s ta rt in on the nortl
jetty it would help keep the mouth
open for the local fish erm en who
have been using the channel reg­
u larly .
Most of the work during the
p ast week has been in filling In
the "anchor" on the beach on the
north sid e.
It was reported that the con
tra c to rs plan on blasting some
rocks out of the channel th is
weekend, and the d rag -lin e gear
would is- used to c le a r out some
of the sand in the channel.
The d rag -lin e will have to be
used m ore from now on to place
the bigger rocks at the endofth«
Jetties.
