Gilbert Batty has taken over
the operation of the Associated
Station on the corner of Oak and
Chetco Avenue.
The station was previously
operated by Ralph Tews. The
change will go into effect this
Friday, August 16.

Paul Fauerso, Brookings in
surance man, is due back in
Brookings this week, after a
six week Insurance course.
Fauerso will be qualified as
an insurance consultant upon
his completion of the course.
The course, which has about
40 attending from all over the
U.S. is held in Seattle, Wash.
His wife stayed in Grayland,
Wash, visiting relatives during
Paul's studies.

AWARDS AT COUNTY FAIR
Over 60 entries were taken
by the Azalea Garden club mem
bers to be shown at the coun
ty fair last week end.
Almost half this number
were from non-members. A
total of 30 awards were realized
by the group.
Among those club members
awarded ribbons are:

Brookings has cab sendee
again, with Mr. and M r s .
Wiley Jordon opening up the
service in Brookings.
Th- Jordons both will drive,
and tentatively plan for an 18
hour service, from 6:30 a.m .
to 2 a. m.
Both are long time residents
of this community. In fact, the
founder of the city, Mr. Brook
ings was an uncle of Jordan.
