MONUMENT SITE GETS STUDY
Chetco D istrict Ranger, W .E.
Ragland reported that he led a
group In to Inspect the site' when
a Navy plane had crashed during
the war, and where the bodies of
the fliers are still burled.
The site is in extrem ely rough
country, far off any tra il, and the
gove m m ent has been trying f o r
some time to build a momument
in that location.
It was .decided that it was im
possible to airdrop m aterials in
because of the steepness of th e
canyon, so now Ragland reported
they will send scouts in to line
up a sled trail for the equipment
and m aterials. A cat will be sent
to doze out the sled tra il.
