At its next regular m eeting in
P ortland on March 29, the Oregon
S tate Highway Commission will
receive bids on the first unit of
th e planned developm ent of the
Oregon Coast H ighw ay betw een
Bold Beach and Pistol River.
This project 15 miles in len g th
betw een Gold Beach and H u n ter
Creek calls for widening the e x ist
ing 20 foot oiled surfacing to p ro
vide a 64 foot black top p av em en t
betw een curbs from Second S tre e t
to a point approxim ately 820 feet
south of Eleventh Street, a dis
tance of 0.8 mile. From this {joint
to the southerly city lim its of
Gold Beach, a distance of 0 38
mile, a norm al roadbed section
is to be constructed, having a 24-
foot black top pavem ent flanked
by 10 foot shoulders, 4 feet of
which, adjacent to the pavem ent
will be oiled to prevent ilfiltra tio n
of w ater at the pavem ent edges.
