There isn’t a single station wagon built that'8
bigger than the new Plymouth.
We’re not just talking about the low-price 3,
though Plymouth has the biggest in the lowest-
price range. We mean all station wagons . . . low-
“big” luxury wagons. You can’t buy bigger than
Plymouth no matter how much you spend !
So why spend m o re -a n d settle for less?
Especially when Plymouth offers you the magic
smoothness of velvety Torsion-Aire Ride . . .
Push-Button Driving . . . Total-Contact Brakes . . .
Flight-Sweep Styling . . . and the power-for-safety
of up to 290 hp. Drive a Suburban today!

Lumber Prices
Still Lp Some
The slight im provem ent i n
prices for green lum ber reported
last week still continues, but the
m arket is still hadicupped by lack
of dem and, according to Random
Lengths, Eugene w eekly lum ber
m arket letter. *
A lthough m ills are holding to
their new price levels, and report
some selling, it is still unlikely
that cu rren t inventories and pro
duction man be moved entirely.
Even if dem and w ere to pick
up sharply, most mills feel it
would be some tim e before any
price advances would be felt at
the mill level.
S tud prices continue to show'
firm ness, largely due to low vol
um e production.
C ontinuing buyer in terest has
been reported by m ills shipping
m ixed ears of green and kiln
dried lum ber, but some rejxirt a
slight slow-down from tw o w eeks
ago as buyers w ait lor definite
m arket tren d s to develop. Most
sales are m ade to fill im m ediate
needs or gaps in unbalanced in
ventories.
A lthough Pine production is be
low' par, most mills have been
selling th eir output, and m ain tain
fair unfilled order files. For the
past several months, sales have
exceeded production, and prices,
p articularly in the w ider w idths
of N um ber 2 and b etter and 3
grades have shown considerable
strength.
Associated species of Pine have
not faired so well. Inland Fir and
larch «production is handicapped
by adverse w eather, and an in
active m arket. Englem ann Spruce
rem ains unchanged w ith a slow
and spotty m arket, and W hite
F ir follows the sam e pattern.
Demand and supply in the Ply
wood m ark et is fairly well bal
anced as a result of curtailed pro
duction. A num ber of plants re
ported a pick-up in inquiry this
past week, b ut so far none of
those who shortened th eir w ork
ing weeks to four days, have
indicated they will resum e norm al
schedules.
