Bullock made nine paints in that
period, while Ron Bullock added
five, Bill W orkinger four and
Je rry Anderson three.
In an attem pt to run Phoenix,
coach Cal Pace inserted a new
group of boys in the second q u a r
ter and Phoenix pulled ahead to
a one point lead at the half, 26-25. ,
But it was in the early part of
the third period th a t th e Brooks
let the P irates take a lead, which
was as high as eight points at one
time.
The last q u arte r started off
w ith the Brooks trying to make
up a five point deficit—and they
nearly succeeded. They pushed
through seven baskets in the final
fram e, but only once did they tie
the game and th a t tie was quickly
