Christm as came a little early to
Mavor Roy Brimm and the
Brookings Council. The C hristm as
present was a “gift" you w ouldn t
w rite your friends about, but it
is very im portant to the people of
Brookings.
A w rapped up and delivered
is the “existing” sew er system.
A motion was passed at the
Brookings Council m eeting Tues
day night authorizing the m ayor
to sign an agreem ent, already
signed by the citizen claim ants,
and Elmer Bankus. which would
in effect, sell the existing system
to the city for $20.000. and elim ate
the bickering which h as kept the
city bn edge for the past two
years.
The agreem ent would also see
th e taxpayers injunction against
th e city dismissed, and the city
w oul$ sta rt condem nation pro
ceedings and a title search soon
to get the m atter settled finally.
