And if one does not bother his m ind w ith the facts behind the tears, he is likely to develope a depressed attitude to w ard the w orld and life in gen eral. Ju st for exam ple, the other day I had the bad fortune to listen in on a citizen who was baring his m iseries to all who w ere w ithin his hearing. N aturally w ith the tim e being w hat it was. just prior to election day, his lam enting was on the subject of taxes, a topic upon w hich almost anyone, re gardless of experience, can re lieve his pent-up frustrations. This poor, u n fo rtu n ate sen of m isery was lam enting the fact th a t his property tax this year would be far in excess of $1,000 and he was holding him self up as an object for sym pathy from all those m ore fortunate. Now, $1,000 is a lot of money, in fact, I can well recall the days w hen 1 w asn't m ak.ng th at n rjch in an . n :h . year of labor.
