mass cheat x-ray survey in the
county, according to the throe
sponsoring agencies, the Curry
County Medical Society, the Cur­
ry County Public Health Depart­
ment, and the Curry County Tu­
berculosis and Health Association.

the Public Health office Thus-
day afternoon to set the time and
to work out some of the phases
of the survey.
“Curry' county did a splendid
job at the last survey,” according*
to Mr. Reierson, and it is the opin
ion of those concerned that this
survey will be even more success­
ful. Community meetings will fol­
low and dates and times will be
announced immediately.

FLOYD HUFFMAN PASSES
Floyd Huffman, 65, widely
known Del Norte citizen and bus­
iness man. passed away sudden­
ly Monday morning. July 30. He
was the oldest son of tbs lai*;
Andrew and Nora Huffman and
was born at Coos Bay, Feb.22,
1891, coming with his parents,
to Smith River when he was a
year old, and spent much of his
younger life there.
He formerly owned the Huff­
man Clothing store in Crescent
City and later purchased the Ant­
lers Cafe, which he operated at
the time of his death. He was a
member of Crescent Lodge. A.-
F. & A. M., Eureka Elks Lodge,
and was the first commander of
the Del Norte American Legion
post.
Survivors are tw'o daughters
and two sons, Irene Huffman,
Mrs. Ellen Louise
Brundin,
Charles and Nathan Huffman, all
of Crescent City; three brotheis,
Austin, Edgar, and Jack Huff­
man, of Crescent City; nine
grandchildren; an aunt, Mrs.
Stella Elliott .and a number of
cousins in both California and in
Oregon.
Funeral services were held on
Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. the
Wiers’ Mortuary Chapel, witii
graveside services by the Mas­
onic Lodge and interment in the
Smith River cemetery.
HAIGHT REUNION
The annual family reunion of
the family of the late Daniel and
Fanny Haight will be held at
Smith River, Sunday, August 5,
at the Community hall. About
iful luncheon will be served at
noon time with members of the
Haight family in this area as the
hosts. Relatives are expected
from Portland, California, and
Vancouver, Wash.
Mr. and Mrs. Moore Hamilton
and family and Mr. and Mrs. Wal
ter Young and family, and their
olef friends, the C. O. Leonards,
had a fishing and barbecue pic­
nic on the banks of the Winchuck
Tuesday evening. Mr. Hamilton
is Medford’s postmaster and Mr.
Young has an office supply stole
there.
