at 3 a.m., th an k s t<* H arold
Moore. We journeyed to Oregon
M ountain peacefully enough, and
then the snow began to fall in
bunches. W e didn’t m ake it to
th e top- w hat w ith the risk of
plunging the ca r ad rift off the
cliffs at th a t hour. So we started
back, and cam e through Brook­
ings a t 7:30 a m. on the w ay up
the coast to Eugene. F o u r hours
of driving, and we h ad n ’t gone
anywhere..
